A week in the city of lights left me spinning. I haven't caught up yet enough to write a post for this week. Instead, I'm sharing 15 snapshots of a Parisian-flavoured adventure.
The only place in Paris where the Eiffel Tower cannot be seen is from the Tower itself. We dodged the mammoth queues for the top of the tower by only booking to the second floor for €18.10. On such a misty day, it made sense to leave a visit to the top for another day when we could appreciate its bilious views sans nuage. Photo by Nat.

Even Paris travellers get that Monday morning mood. Line 2 Metro - from Blanche to Barbes Rochechouart. The last time I travelled through Barbes, in 2019, I ended up in a Parisian police car after being robbed on the Metro. Undercover cops were watching the thieves, thankfully, so all was well. They wouldn’t put on the sirens for us, though …
Canal Saint Martin — where the cool kids are. Coffee at the side of the canal, watching the students cross town on lunch break. Photo: Nat
59 Rue De Rivoli. A new find for me. This beacon of Paris counter-culture reveals room after room adopted by its artist to showcase their work, and it is something to be experienced. Entry is free, and the artists often work on their projects as you wander around. Thirty artists create live in one exhibition space, which wraps itself around the building. Photo Nat
Le Consulat — just off Place du Tertre. I’ve spent many hours wandering these cobbled streets when I’ve been unable to sleep in the middle of the night. It’s the best time to experience true Paris as she washes her streets clean of tourists and city dwellers. At 3am, Paris feels like it belongs to you alone.
Basilica Sacre Coeur. Beautiful she may be, but we all have problems with rats one way or another… Photo Nat.
Parisians are good at many things — lane discipline is not one of them. Photo from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Photo Nat.
Late-night crepes. Nutella and banana €5. Sticky fingers on the night bus after these beauties.

59 Rue de Rivoli. How did I miss this building over the last five years?? Each image represents the individual artist working on that particular floor.
Rue des Abbesses - you can’t beat mooching around the streets of Montmartre, and there are plenty of steps to rest. Photo Nat.
Pere Lachaise cemetery. I didn’t opt for the obvious shot of the graves of James Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, although they are here. This is one of the most peaceful places I’ve visited. Entry is free. We munched on saucisson baguettes while pondering life/death. Photo by Nat.
Wonderful photos! I’ve never been to Paris, but thanks to you and Summer, I’m smitten 🙂
Thank you for sharing, Nat! 💗
